The Peeples Valley Fire District is governed by a five-member, nonpartisan board elected by the registered voters of the Fire District. Board members serve alternating four-year terms and receive no compensation for their service. The Board of Directors acts on behalf of the district residents to ensure the smooth and efficient operation. The Fire Board must comply with numerous state laws in the Arizona Revised Statutes. The Fire Board is responsible for employing the Fire Chief to manage all aspects of the District.

Board members receive no compensation for their service. The role is explicitly described as: no financial benefits and a voluntary public service position.
